I believe education is essential to a healthy, democratic society. As the first person in my family to attend college, I experienced firsthand how education opens doors to opportunities unavailable to my parents. My decision to run is rooted in the belief that every child deserves an excellent education.

Over 25 years of teaching experience in in public K-12 and community college classrooms.

 working with students from many backgrounds, having a wide range of abilities, and needs.

I served on state-level committees as an educator and representative of for Minnesota State Faculty Union with colleagues across Minnesota working to improve our service to students entering college without the literacy skills needed to be successful in college. That work required collaboration among people with a variety of perspectives and researching complex issues to address the educational needs of students and communities across Minnesota.
